IUD and tampons?

if you have an IUD can you use tampons? I hear they can pull the IUD out. Is this true and have anyone had it surface? An IUD is placed inside the uterus whereas a tampon is placed inside the vaginal canal. The 2 are separated by the cervix which, by its particularly nature, doesn't allow allow massive solid objects like these to surpass through it. Yes there is a string that hang from the IUD that extends outside of the cervix but it is NOT designed in such a opening that it can get caught on a tampon. Even if this be to happen, the IUD is fitted surrounded by such a way that a tampon is not strong satisfactory to dislodge it and pull it through the cervix.
As far as other possible effects, yes the string does be paid you more susceptible to infection but as long as you are using tampons correctly and changing them at the recommended time intervals your risk is no greater next to an IUD than without.
My sister have one..She perfers pads because you dont want to win an infection all the mode up there =] i would use pad..and bacteria can travel from your tampon up contained by there to your iud
