Is taking Lamotrigine(anti-epilepsy drug), safe and sound for pregnant women?

This one was prescribed by my neurologist, but I still hold seizures one contained by a while. Lamotrigine may cause a difficult risk of cleft palates within babies whose moms take it during pregnancy. Unfortunately, in attendance is no anti-epiliepsy drug that has be found to be safe during pregnancy. But seizure can be worse than the side effects. Work with your neurologist to find a set off between side effects for your baby and the stipulation to reduce seizure. It's safer than other antiseizure medications, though it does tilt the risk of having a newborn with a cleft palate. I doubt your doctor would appropriate you off of the Lamictal. Talk next to him about what you can do to trademark a pregnancy as safe as possible. Having seizure while pregnant can endanger a fetus.
